Posted on 20 May 2019 by admin (0)

Nizhny Novgorod had been founded by Prince Yuri Vsevolodovich in 1221 for protecting the borders of Russia. It is considered to be a hub of cultural, political, and economic activity in Russia. I had read about the stunning landscape of the city and thus, planned to visit. It is slowly turning out to be a hotspot for global and Russian’s tourists alike. Here are some of the best places that you can visit during your tour.

The Kremlin

The Kremlin is a stunning monument which covering a significant part of the ancient hill. This is architecture depicting the defense of Russia. I came to learn that the monument has experienced several troublesome events but is still standing. You will be surprised to know that 14 towers are connected by the high stone wall. Each and every tower has a specific function. The structure took 15 years to be built. A tour of the museum enlightened me about the history of the country. From inside, you can catch glimpse of the splendid view of the city.

Chkalov Staircase

Visit the Chkalov Staircase to clear your doubt about how many stairs are actually there. In order to reach the top, you have to be fit. Well, fit or not, I had to get to the finish line to experience the view that it has to offer. From the top, you can look out over the entire city.

Pechersky Ascension Monastery

St. Dionysius had built this monastery around 1328-1330. Eventually, it turned out to be the religious and the spiritual center of the city. However, a landslide in 1597 destroyed the monastery. In the same year, it was rebuilt. It is surely a great place to visit. The tranquility will come as a respite. You will find wonderful paintings on the chapel ceilings and wall.
